+1...
But maybe Diamond indeed had lots of good intentions, just lack of time to complete Technify 2.0s upgrade... :)
Anybody aware where is Crosby with his 2.0s STC project? Got blocked with that announcement or manages to keep going?

As far as I know Mr. Crosby completed everything related to his STC and picked up several facilities that will be authorized to apply it. I got an offer and I'll probably go for it once I reach TBR.

Every Centurion 2.0s upgrade costs Diamond two Austro sales. Mr Dries cannot be happy about that.
If Technify are smart enough to see through Diamond's intentions, they MUST give Crosby as much financial support (= margin) as they possibly can to make his operation viable. At the very least this gives them a hedge.

I am convinced that the only thing Diamond want from this announcement is to keep a strong hand on the DA42 used market and preserve the market room for their Austro.
If Crosby had not been there they would not even have looked at including the 2.0s in the DA42 TC.
Has anyone heard anything about the announcement made by Diamond in April, 2014 for availability in July (2014)? I hope Technify are reading this thread...
As of yesterday, they are still working on it in Austria and obviously behind schedule. I suspect, but do know know, that the other development project (DA62) has diverted some of the available engineering and flight test resources.

Emir this is good news.
I will get in touch again with John. Which shop made you the offer? Do you know anything about FAA-certification?

I usually avoid posting same thing in two threads but I believe this is worth of it. EASA TC DS confirming that TAE 125-02-114 (2.0s) is certified for DA42 as Design Change OÄM 42-252:

OK so now we have two possible sources for the DA42 -CDI-155 upgrade. Both EASA, no FAA so far.
The Diamond solution has no support for the scimitar props.
We do not know yet how much money Diamond will charge
The CDI-155 remains a very expensive proposition over its present 1200 hour life time. This must be kept in mind and I believe a formal statement from Technify that they are working on 1500 hours TBR is an absolute minimum before jumping into this.

Exciting times...

I got initial info on pricing for CD-155 from Diamond and it looks quite high. Comparing to info I got for Austro upgrade (without all -VI options) it's in the same range. Having in mind at least landing gear changes needed for Austro upgrade, it seems that 2.0s upgrade offered at Diamond is overpriced.

Avweb posted this yesterday (3/2):

http://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/Di ... 639-1.html
Diamond Aircraft has certified the Continental Diesel CD-155 engine for retrofit in its DA42 fleet, the company said on Monday. The new option is now available in Europe and Canada, with FAA approval still pending.
And then Diamond posted this on their website:

Press release:
http://www.diamond-air.at/media-center/ ... -tdis.html

Upgrade page with no useful information:
http://www.diamond-air.at/services/cont ... grade.html

They don't list a price...
